Vaccinations

The Philosophy of Elkin Natural Health Centre does not include the Vaccination Process. Dr. Colin Elkin and Dr. Kim Pitblado do not suggest or promote Vaccinations. We do not use this medical procedure for our own personal health nor for that of our children. We encourage all of our patients to make an informed decision with regard to this procedure. It is important to consider both the pros and cons.

The College of Chiropractors of Ontario has set the Standard of Practice (S-015) with regard to Immunization/Vaccination as the following:

The Standard states that Chiropractors may not, in their professional capacity, treat or advise persons with respect to immunization/vaccination as it is outside their scope of practice, as defined in Section 3 of the Chiropractic Act, 1991.

Immunization/Vaccination is outside the scope of practice of Chiropractic and Chiropractors do not have the legislative authority to immunize/vaccinate patients, and Chiropractors must advise patients to consult with health providers who have immunization/vaccination within their scope of practice, namely, physicians, nurses and nurse practitioners.
